Digital Solution & Data Analyst
Department:  Planning & Digital
Job Location:  Hong Kong International Airport, Lantau Island

The Digital Solution and Data Analyst drives business excellence for Cathay Subsidiary Services, Cathay Cargo Terminal, Cathay Dining, HAS by Cathay, and Vogue Laundry by bridging the gap between digital innovation and data-driven decision-making.

This role focuses on reviewing business processes to identify digital transformation opportunities, conducting proof of concepts (POCs) for new technologies, and managing the end-to-end lifecycle of data—from strategic acquisition and cleaning to the development of advanced interactive dashboards. The incumbent will leverage complex data sets to discover actionable insights that inform strategic planning and improve operational efficiency

 

Responsibilities:

  • Digital Transformation: Review business processes to identify digital opportunities and gather requirements for transformation projects.
  • Solution Validation: Conduct POCs and pilot projects to validate digital technologies, providing recommendations based on data-driven analysis.
  • Implementation: Collaborate with development teams and external parties to implement solutions using agile methodologies.
  • Data Integration: Gather, clean, and integrate data from various sources to ensure a "single source of truth".
  • BI Development: Develop and maintenance of interactive dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI or Tableau to monitor performance.
  • Advanced Analytics: Apply quantitative techniques to identify patterns and trends that inform business strategy.
  • Stakeholder Management: Present data insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders and provide training on dashboard usage.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with digital technologies, industry trends, and best practices to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and business growth.
  • Collaboration: Work with IT, finance, and operations teams to ensure data accuracy and consistent dashboard updates; Support the Digital Solution Assistant Manager in monitoring project progress, making adjustments as needed to ensure successful implementation and adoption of digital initiatives.
  • Conduct any ad hoc duties or projects as assigned by your superior

 

Requirements:

  • University degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline. Candidates with other educational backgrounds and strong technology know-how combined with relevant experience will also be considered.
  • 3+ years of working experience in digital transformation, data analysis, and dashboard development, preferably within the aviation or relevant industry
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, relational databases, and data analysis tools such as R or Python, and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Qliksense
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while remaining detail-oriented
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and experience working with or as part of an agile team.
