Digital Solution & Automation Analyst

Job Location:  Hong Kong International Airport, Lantau Island

The Digital Solution & Automation Analyst is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of digital tools and automation solutions, acting as both a Business Analyst and a hands-on solution builder. The primary objective is to drive operational excellence for Cathay Subsidiary Services, in which consists of several independent departments that provides professional services to Cathay Pacific Airways Limited and its subsidiaries (the ‘Company’), including but not limited to Cathay Cargo Terminal, Cathay Dining, HAS by Cathay and Vogue Laundry.

This role bridges the gap between business requirements and technical execution by reviewing processes, identifying improvement opportunities, analysing data, and directly building, prototyping and deploying agile digital solutions. By leveraging low-code/no-code platforms, workflow automation tools, data analytics, and where appropriate light coding or emerging AI capabilities, the incumbent will transform business needs into functional applications, automated workflows and practical digital solutions that enhance efficiency and support data-informed decision-making across the assigned business units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with business users and stakeholders to understand operational pain points, gather requirements, review existing processes and identify opportunities for digitalisation, automation and continuous improvement.
  • Translate business requirements into practical solution designs, user stories, workflows, prototypes and functional specifications.
  • Build, test, deploy and maintain digital tools, low-code/no-code applications, automated workflows, dashboards and lightweight databases to support business operations.
  • Support the development of automation solutions using low-code/no-code platforms and, where appropriate, light coding such as Python scripting to improve process efficiency, data handling or system integration.
  • Explore and apply emerging technologies such as Agentic AI, Microsoft Copilot, AI-assisted productivity tools and other automation capabilities to support business productivity and innovation.
  • Conduct data analysis using available business data to generate insights, monitor solution performance and support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with IT, digital teams, vendors and cross-functional business units to ensure solutions are fit for purpose, sustainable, secure and aligned with relevant governance requirements.
  • Support user acceptance testing, training, documentation, change management and post-implementation support for delivered solutions.
  • Maintain and enhance existing digital tools and automation solutions by resolving issues, collecting user feedback and implementing continuous improvements.
  • Keep abreast of digital solution trends, low-code/no-code development, automation tools, AI-enabled solutions and relevant industry practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Computer Science, Information Management, Data Analytics, Engineering or a related field; candidates with other educational backgrounds and strong technology know-how combined with relevant experience will also be considered.
  • 3-5 years of experience in digital transformation, business process analysis, automation, application development or related areas, preferably in the relevant industry.
  • Proven experience in building applications, logic flows, workflows, forms, dashboards or database structures within a low-code/no-code environment.
  • Experience with workflow automation, process improvement, business analysis, requirements gathering and user acceptance testing.
  • Hands-on experience or strong interest in Python scripting, API integration, Agentic AI, Microsoft Copilot, AI productivity tools or other automation technologies would be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and experience working with or as part of an agile team.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills, with a data-driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented, organized and able to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
