Cathay Subsidiary Services consists of several independent departments that provides professional services to Cathay Pacific Airways Limited and its subsidiaries (the ‘Company’), including but not limited to Cathay Cargo Terminal, Cathay Dining, HAS by Cathay and Vogue Laundry.

Assistant Commercial Manager
Department:  Customer & Commercial
Job Location:  Hong Kong International Airport, Lantau Island

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and execution of short, medium, and long-term commercial strategies to maximise business growth and profitability across Cathay Group ground handling and subsidiary services.
  • Assist in managing the commercial relationship with Cathay Group airlines (Cathay Pacific, HK Express, and Air Hong Kong), ensuring alignment on service scope, pricing, and operational requirements.
  • Drive commercial support for Cargo Group strategic initiatives, including the integration of the Dongguan Logistics Park (GBA) operations, upstream acceptance, and intermodal connectivity.
  • Facilitate the commercial framework for Cross-border Trucking solutions and the Macau-Zhuhai Fresh Lane, ensuring competitive pricing and SLA governance for time-sensitive perishables and specialised cargo.
  • Act as the key point of contact for Cathay Group business enquiries, coordinating with internal departments to ensure timely, effective responses to evolving logistical requirements.
  • Support the promotion of ground handling and specialised logistics services, identifying opportunities to expand cooperation in ramp handling, passenger services, load control, and GBA-specific intermodal services.
  • Assist in preparing commercial proposals, pricing analyses, business cases, and presentations related to Cathay Group accounts and new infrastructure investments.
  • Work closely with operations, finance, and service delivery teams to ensure smooth execution of commercial agreements and contractual obligations.
  • Support account performance monitoring, including analysis of flight volumes, cargo throughput via GBA channels, service utilisation, and revenue performance.
  • Assist in contract management, service review meetings, and commercial negotiations with Cathay Group counterparts to ensure long-term strategic value.
  • Coordinate the annual contract review and audit processes, reconciling service scope and pricing details to ensure alignment with the Group’s integrated logistics ambitions.

 

Requirements:

  • Degree holder or above in Business Administration, Aviation Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related disciplines.
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in commercial, business development, or account management, preferably within aviation, air cargo, or multimodal logistics industries.
  • Experience working with airline customers, GBA logistics frameworks, or aviation stakeholders is highly desirable.
  • Good understanding of airport ground handling, cross-border logistics, and airline operational requirements is a distinct advantage.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and the ability to evaluate the commercial feasibility of new logistics corridors.
  • Good communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple subsidiary teams and external partners.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Cantonese; proficiency in Mandarin is a significant advantage given the focus on GBA initiatives.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Chinese word processing.
